Great Turnarounds, U-Truns and Several-Anti-Turns by Toothpaste Brands and Car Brands

Great Turnarounds, U-Truns and Several-Anti-Turns by Toothpaste Brands and Car Brands:
I still remember, Colgate ad, "Why use the black charcoal when you can use the Colgate soft tooth powder. It was just to defeat the Bitco Brand Black tooth powder in our early child hood in 1978's....
Now, they ....Colgate....have Charcoal in their own toothpaste.
We had one toothpaste called Signal in our childhood having series of strips of colors in it. So there was ad by Colgate that white is calcium and supports the teeth. Sometimes back even Close-Up Toothpaste brought 'sparklers' in their toothpaste.....
Binaca was toothpaste and competitor of Colgate now they are merged together after Binaca became Cibaca......
Same thing about using salt as toothpaste among the Konkani and Mumbaikars during that time. To kill this habit and use their toothpaste, Colgate brought "Do you have salt in your toothpaste?"

Now a days, Pepsodent has brought the "Laung wala Toothpaste" to fight Patanjali, Himalaya, and Dabur company's products having same ingredients.
We had one toothpaste called Signal in our childhood having series of strips of colors in it. So there was ad that white is calcium and supports the teeth. Sometimes back Close-Up Toothpaste brought 'sparklers' in their toothpaste and same with the germ boosters by Colgate.
Binaca was toothpaste and competitor of Colgate now they are merged together after Binaca became Cibaca.
I know there are so many funny stories in the field of Marketing that, students couldn't stop laughing once I told them, Fiat and Tata and Daewoo were competitors and fought marketing wars, however, now, Tata owns all the decisions of Daewoo and Fiat in India.

Once it so happened that after several quality checks, Firestone brought more than several million tires on the road. Later, they called it back, more than 8 million. This call back is so rampant now a day that Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Tata, you name it and they have certain call back experience with them.

If I say, Coca Cola Vs. Pepsi, students say, "Sir, no more grape-wine or even a truth.... about these two, .....". We laugh a lot.
