Are we heading to developed world or back to square one?

Please note, a common man's everyday experience in Himalayas.

I went to Tap,
There was no water, in the tap.

I went to switch on light bulb,
There was no electricity.

I went to vehicle,
There was no petrol,

I went to Petrol pump/bunk,
There was no petrol

I went by cycle
The road was full of monsoon rain water

I went to vegetable market
There was no availability
