STILL 4 Billion are not covered under Social Protection, hence, these efforts. Reference: https://sdgs.un.org/goals/goal1 Ending Poverty in all of its formats, forms and dimensions everywhere :::: It has 7 Targets and 13 indicators Target 1.1: Person or family earning less than 1.25 USD / day is called living under Internationally accepted Poverty Line, so by 2030 we should overcome this, was the main target before pandemic, now course correction might take let’s suppose 5 to 10 years more. What is the only 1 indicator indicates? The major Indicator is the proportion of population under Poverty line may it be urban or rural. Target 1.2: Reducing at least 50% of men, women and children living under poverty by 2030 What are it’s 2 indicators indicate? By Age or by any other dimensions people living under their national poverty line forms the major indicators Target 1.3: Sustainable Social protection could be provided to all the poor and vulnerable by 2030 What does the only 1 indicator indicates? Proportion of the population covered under the social protection including children, differently able people, unemployed, etc. Target 1.4: All men, women and poor have equal rights to resources, services, ownership, inheritance, control, financials and technology. What do the 2 indicators indicate? First indicates that households get their basic services and Second indictor indicates that they have legal documents of their own and have legal rights of their lands with clarity of time dimensions. Target 1.5: Building Resilient poor for all whether of financial or economic or social or climate vulnerabilities, shocks and disasters. What are the 4 indicators indicating? These are all mainly proportions: Number of deaths/ 100000, Number of missing persons/ 100000, and number of people affected by the disaster/ 100000 Direct Loss/ GDP Number of nations having disaster management strategies/ 193 (Total Members of UNO). Number of local governments/ National Disaster Management Strategies. Target 1. a: To ensure poverty reduction in all dimensions ensuring mobilisation of resources to grassroot level with enhanced cooperation and considerations. What are the 2 indicators indicating? Government resources directedly allocated to this programme out of Total GDP. Proportion of government resources dedicated to the basic needs like education, health and social protection out of total GDP. Target 1. b: Pro Poor Polices with inclusiveness in focus and the supporting investment at all levels. What is the only indicator? Proportion of Government spending/ funds that do not help the poor, women and vulnerable, i.e. that do not reach at grass root level.
