It’s truly said by my grandmother ( who expired this month @ the age of 99 years), “Till 1930’s with one ana ( 6 paisa= 0.01 USD i.e. 1 USD @ rate INR 60 i.e. INR 60 = 1 USD) your grandfather could buy the grains for whole one year, for the entire joint family of 18 people.”
